COUNCIL BILL 2006-216. (Carlson) A special ordinance
authorizing the City Manager, or his designee, on behalf
of the City of Springfield, Missouri to enter into an
agreement with the Greater Springfield Area Sports Commission
and Foundation, Inc. (“Sports Commission”) whereby
the City will provide the Sports Commission with a share
of the City’s collection fees from the hotel/motel
tax to fund the Sports Commission’s efforts to bring
regional and national sporting events to the City.

-Authorizing
the City Manager to make an application and accept an award from the United
States Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency,
Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, for the acquisition and installation
of a vehicle exhaust system in Fire Station #2; and to amend the budget provided
for the Fire Department of the City of Springfield, Missouri, for fiscal year
2006-2007, in the amount of $24,000.00 (on consent agenda- first read)
