Legislative Summaries


Approximately 1,500 bills are filed each legislative session. Many are quite complex and can affect our clients in ways that may not be immediately obvious. Our experienced staff examines each bill, probing for ways in which bills may impact our clients. Our clients then receive an analysis of pertinent legislation including:

  • A clear description of the bill and its effect on our client

  • A weekly report via fax, conference call, and/or personal consultation

  • A recommendation for a course of action, if one is warranted

  • Up-to-the-minute updates about the bill’s status via a customized bill tracking system


Legislative Reports


Each week we describe in narrative form the key activities specific to issues affecting our clients. Our summary explains the overall course the General Assembly is taking and how it impacts our client.


Legislative Initiatives


Often, many of our clients seek us out to offer innovative new ideas to the General Assembly. We assist in developing legislation, recruiting bill sponsors, drafting bills and placing them properly in state law, and following through during the legislative session.


Committee Hearings


Each week our clients' designated contact person receives a list of the committee hearings, both legislative and regulatory, that have been scheduled for bills of interest. The schedule will include the date, time and location of the hearing as well as the bill number and description.


Legislative Directory


At the beginning of the session in January, we offer clients a comprehensive Legislative Directory containing a list of members of the General Assembly with contact information and committee appointments, along with information on statewide officials and Missouri’s Congressional Delegation.


Administrative Rules


We provide our clients with a bi-monthly update on all proposed rules and regulations which appear in the Missouri Register. This allows for timely input on these important issues.

Gamble & Schlemeier support staff is well versed in all Ethics Commission regulations and fulfill reporting requirements for lobbyist expenditures and registration obligations in compliance with Missouri law. One staff member is devoted to coordinating efforts on key high-profile issues that require more involved day-to-day tasks between multiple parties. Our experienced staff is skilled in scheduling legislator, client and lobbyist meetings. All staff has a good rapport with legislators and their aides which complements the lobbying team’s efforts on behalf of clients.


Support staff records bill tracking information, and client responses for bills of interest. They distribute reports and information including hearing schedules to client contacts as directed by the lobbying team.
